Apple Health App Adds AI-Powered Insights, Readiness Score, and Health Age
Apple's redesigned Health app uses Apple Intelligence to provide a new Insights tab, a readiness score, and a 'Health Age' metric based on biomarkers like VO2 max and sleep. The redesigned app debuts alongside the new Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4. The app also features a longevity tab that evaluates sleep, movement, and heart health, and allows users to incorporate external lab results.
Apple has partnered with Quest to offer a 50-biomarker lab panel for $119, providing access to blood-based data that informs the Health Age metric. Additionally, the app includes guided physical assessments with trainer demonstrations, designed to assist aging users or those recovering from injuries. The update will launch later this year in U.S. English.
