Israeli forces kill four Palestinians in northern Gaza despite ceasefire
Israeli forces opened fire on shelters and tents in the Jabalia refugee camp, killing at least four Palestinians. An air raid near Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya killed a man, his wife, and two daughters. The attacks continue despite a US-backed ceasefire in effect since October 2025.
A medical source at al-Shifa Hospital confirmed the fatalities from gunfire near Israeli deployment zones. Wafa reported that troops fired from vehicles and a drone at tents in Jabalia, while an overnight air raid near Kamal Adwan Hospital killed a man, his wife, and two daughters.
These strikes persist despite a US-backed ceasefire effective since October 2025. Local authorities list 73,669 deaths and 174,652 injuries since October 2023. Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has called depopulation, euphemistically termed "migration", the "only solution", echoing far-right calls for displacement.
Continued attacks despite the ceasefire could undermine the fragile truce, leaving displaced Palestinians in northern Gaza with fewer safe spaces. Targeting areas near hospitals may strain already overwhelmed medical services and force more families to flee. The explicit advocacy for depopulation by officials could heighten fears of forced displacement, potentially destabilizing regional relations and prolonging the humanitarian catastrophe.
