Insta360 Luna Pro offers native 4K portrait video for social creators
The Insta360 Luna Pro is a $600 pocket gimbal camera that rivals DJI's Pocket 4, featuring a single 20mm lens and a 1-inch sensor. It stands out with native 4K shooting in 9:16 portrait mode, which is currently missing from competitors. The camera also includes a detachable screen that doubles as a wireless remote and microphone, and delivers impressive still photos.
The Luna Pro shares its core imaging hardware with the company's Ultra model, featuring a Leica Summicron f1.8/20mm lens and a 1-inch sensor that records up to 8K/30 or 4K/120. It also supports 37-megapixel stills, Dolby Vision, and 10-bit I-Log color.
Physically, the single-lens gimbal head makes the device about half an inch shorter than the Ultra. It offers 47GB of internal storage, a 1550 mAh battery, and a detachable display that can be swapped between models, though doing so may trigger firmware updates requiring a factory reset.
