Tinashe Unveils Two New Tracks Ahead of 'Popstar' Album
Tinashe released the songs "Pillow Fight" and "I'd Rather Be Alone" as the latest previews from her upcoming album Popstar, due September 25. The tracks showcase contrasting moods, with one playful and flirtatious and the other a vulnerable ballad. She also announced she will open for Harry Styles on two Phoenix dates next spring.
The new single "Pillow Fight" features a music video directed by Zac Wiesel, who has previously helmed visuals for other prominent artists. These fresh tracks join previously shared songs like "Melatonin" and "Crash Out" on the upcoming record, which is set to blend dance, pop, and R&B styles.
Beyond the album release, Tinashe will support Harry Styles at two Arizona concerts next spring, with general ticket sales starting later this month. This momentum follows her 2024 hit "Nasty," which reached the Hot 100, and her collaboration "No Broke Boys," which topped a dance chart.
The dual release strategy may appeal to a broad audience by catering to both upbeat and introspective listening moods, potentially expanding Tinashe's fanbase. Her high-profile opening slot for Harry Styles could significantly boost her visibility among mainstream pop audiences, possibly leading to increased album streams and concert attendance. Additionally, the continued success of her previous singles suggests that *Popstar* could reinforce her position as a versatile artist in the current pop and R&B landscape.
