Comau's MyCo cobot system streamlines Decathlon's e-commerce fulfillment
Comau has developed and validated an order-preparation system for Decathlon's e-commerce operations as part of the MASTERLY European initiative. The solution combines the MyCo collaborative robot with a ROS 2-based architecture, an advanced modular gripper, and AI-powered vision to handle picking, handling, and palletizing of variable product flows. It is designed to manage rigid, soft, and porous materials while enabling real-time optimization and smooth human-robot interaction.
Comau's system integrates a ROS 2-based software stack with digital twin capabilities and workflow orchestration tools, allowing the MyCo cobot to adapt to diverse item shapes and materials. The development was directly shaped by Decathlon's specific fulfillment needs, with STAM acting as a key systems integrator within the broader MASTERLY consortium.
Beyond this deployment, Comau's intralogistics strategy has been bolstered by recent acquisitions of Automha and Invent. The project also highlights Decathlon's ongoing adoption of automation, as the retailer has previously partnered with several other robotics firms like Exotec and Geek+ to enhance its supply chain operations.
This deployment could signal a broader shift in e-commerce logistics toward adaptable, human-centric automation.
