Nashville Chamber to Posthumously Honor Dolly Parton with 2026 Icon Award
The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce will posthumously honor Dolly Parton with its 2026 Icon Award during its Annual Celebration on Sept. 17. The award recognizes individuals whose lasting contributions have shaped Nashville and Middle Tennessee. Parton is one of three posthumous recipients, alongside Ronald L. Corbin and Martha R. Ingram.
The chamber's annual celebration is scheduled for September 17th at Nissan Stadium. Alongside Parton, the chamber will recognize civic leader Ronald L. Corbin and philanthropist Martha R. Ingram with posthumous icon awards. The event also features various Spirit of the Region awards for other local figures.
Parton died in Nashville at age 80. She held memberships in four major halls of fame, including the Country Music and Rock & Roll Halls. Her chart success included two Billboard Hot 100 number ones and 25 country chart-toppers, with hits like "9 to 5" and "Islands in the Stream."
