Patent Dispute: Teradyne Accuses JAKA of Infringing Three Cobot Patents

Teradyne Robotics has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against JAKA Robotics' German subsidiary at the Unified Patent Court, alleging violations of three Universal Robots patents covering robot interfaces, safety brakes, and joint construction. The case, filed on August 24, 2026, was publicly announced three days later, and JAKA initially claimed it had not received official notification. JAKA has previously cited freedom-to-operate analyses that found no infringement, but the court docket does not yet specify which JAKA models are accused.
Teradyne lodged its complaint on August 24, yet JAKA asserted on September 2 that no legal proceedings had been initiated against it, illustrating the procedural lag between court filing and formal service.
