Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has launched a film and television production banner called Hope & Hard Work, alongside co-founder Katie Telford. The company aims to develop Canadian stories for global audiences, with several projects already in development. Trudeau's partner, pop star Katy Perry, has also been in the spotlight with her own concert film.
The venture will produce scripted and unscripted work across film, television, audio, and live formats. Its early slate features adaptations of Perry Chafe's *Closer by Sea* and Uzma Jalaluddin's *Detective Aunty*, the latter handled by Neshama Entertainment.
A strategic alliance with Earth Tones, led by Aliya Jasmine and Aliza Sovani, will guide the unscripted arm. Concurrently, Perry's Tribeca premiere, directed by Paul Dugdale, showcases her tour supporting the album *143*, arriving after the pair's romance became public in mid-2025.
