Baltimore Theatre Project Unveils Diverse 2026-27 Lineup Featuring Premieres and Reimagined Classics
The Baltimore Theatre Project has revealed its 2026-27 season, which includes world premieres, Baltimore debuts, and fresh interpretations of classic works. The lineup spans theatre, dance, music, opera, and puppetry, presented by multiple resident artist companies.
The 2026-27 season showcases three resident companies with distinct artistic identities. High Zero marks its 28th year as a festival of improvised and experimental music, drawing international performers. IN Series contributes two operatic works, including a satirical reimagining of Gilbert and Sullivan's The Mikado set in a gilded oval office, plus a February piece blending three bold vocal-theater works into a requiem for the American dream. Happenstance Theater's November production, BAROCOCO, draws inspiration from historical letters of French Revolution prisoners, exploring aristocratic excess through ensemble performance timed to coincide with midterm elections. Peabody Chamber Opera also partners on February programming.
