JustWatch to Launch Ad-Supported Streaming Platform Across Multiple Markets

JustWatch Group is launching JustWatch TV, a streaming service offering free ad-supported and paid ad-free viewing plus rentals, within its existing app and website. The service will debut next month across multiple countries including the U.S., U.K., Germany, and Australia, with content partners such as Paramount and Fremantle. JustWatch, which guides users to over 500,000 titles across 1,500 services, aims to simplify discovery and access.
JustWatch TV will appear inside the existing JustWatch app and website, giving users the option to stream free with ads, pay for ad-free viewing, or rent titles. The service launches next month in eleven countries across North America, Europe, and Oceania, with Paramount, New Regency, Fremantle, Bleecker Street, and Vortex Media as launch partners.
The company reports over 50 million monthly users and tracks programming from more than 1,500 streaming services. JustWatch operates in 140 markets, cataloging over 500,000 movies and TV shows, and its data feeds more than 1,400 partner sites and apps. The Berlin-based group employs over 200 people worldwide.
The launch could reshape how viewers navigate the increasingly fragmented streaming landscape. By combining discovery with direct viewing, JustWatch may reduce the friction of hopping between services, potentially benefiting smaller distributors seeking visibility. Consumers could gain a simpler path to both mainstream hits and obscure titles, though the platform's success may depend on whether its curated free tier offers enough compelling content to retain users.
