HBO Max Expands French Originals with Medical Drama 'Rush' and Thriller 'Bodycam'
HBO Max has greenlit two French series, the medical drama "Rush" and police horror-thriller "Bodycam," both set to begin production this fall. The projects were unveiled at the Festival de la Fiction in La Rochelle. They join HBO's growing slate of French originals.
The two new commissions deepen HBO Max's commitment to French-language production, building on a slate that already includes "Privilèges," "Paolo," and "The Seduction," the latter a prequel to "Dangerous Liaisons" featuring Anamaria Vartolomei and Diane Kruger. Both upcoming series were presented at the Festival de la Fiction in La Rochelle, a prominent gathering for French television professionals.
"Rush" carries notable pedigree through Neal Baer, whose producing background includes the long-running American medical drama "ER." The pairing of a seasoned U.S. producer with French creative teams reflects a growing cross-Atlantic collaboration trend in streaming. Production on both "Rush" and "Bodycam" is scheduled to commence this fall, signaling a rapid turnaround from announcement to filming.
