Grand Hyatt's First All-Inclusive Resort Set to Open in Cancun This December
The 500-room beachfront property, owned by Grupo Diestra, will mark Grand Hyatt's debut in Cancun and its first all-inclusive offering. Rooms feature furnished balconies with marina or Caribbean Sea views, and select suites include private pools or lounge access. The resort will also have nine outdoor pools, a spa with a traditional temazcal, and local art installations.
The property sits within the gated Puerto Cancun community, roughly a 25-minute drive from the international airport, with direct access to a marina complex featuring shopping, dining, and a golf course nearby. Its 14 dining venues span French, Northern Italian, Japanese, Argentine-Uruguayan fusion, and local cuisine, while recreational options include snorkeling, kayaking, windsurfing, paddleboarding, sailing tours, and archaeological excursions arranged through the hotel.
As a Category E all-inclusive on Hyatt's updated award chart, standard rooms require between 35,000 and 75,000 World of Hyatt points per night. Cash rates begin at $382 for single occupancy and $588 for double. The opening follows the property's inclusion on a 2026 list of most anticipated hotel debuts, with an early booking incentive available through September 30.
This debut could broaden how points-and-miles travelers approach all-inclusive vacations, offering a luxury redemption option in a destination already dense with resorts. Families, couples, and business travelers may find new value, though the Category E pricing structure means award stays could demand substantial point balances. Local employment and tourism could see a boost, while competing properties may need to adjust pricing or amenities to stay relevant.
