Chase boosts Sapphire Reserve for Business hotel perk to $1,000, sets new spending limit
Starting in 2027, Chase will raise the annual statement credit for The Edit hotel stays on its Sapphire Reserve for Business card from $500 to $1,000, offering four $250 credits instead of two. Cardholders will continue to receive benefits such as daily breakfast, a $100 property credit, and room upgrades when available. The bank is also introducing a $1 million cap on certain bonus categories, which could affect high-volume spenders.
The increased credit exceeds the card's $795 annual fee by $205 when fully used, making the hotel benefit the card's primary value driver. Cardholders booking through Chase Travel's The Edit collection also receive daily breakfast for two, a $100 property credit per booking, room upgrades when available, and early check-in or late checkout.
The advertising bonus cap applies only to social media and search engine advertising spending, which previously earned unlimited 3 points per dollar. Chase will count eligible spending from Nov. 15, 2026, through the next annual fee statement, then reset the cap each anniversary year. The bank states the limit won't affect most cardholders.
The doubled hotel credit could make premium business travel cards more attractive to small business owners who frequently book boutique hotels, potentially shifting how businesses allocate travel spending. The $1 million advertising cap may affect only the largest digital advertisers, but signals that even premium cards are tightening uncapped earning structures.
