Fortnite Adds Kingdom Hearts Characters and Themed In-Game Event

Epic Games introduced Kingdom Hearts outfits for Sora, Riku, Kairi, and Roxas in Fortnite, each with exclusive accessories and Lego Fortnite styles. A special Power Hours event on September 19 will give all players the Kingdom Key and Sea Salt Ice Cream. The crossover is available now in the Fortnite Shop.
The crossover introduces four playable outfits from the Kingdom Hearts series, each bundled with a themed Back Bling and Pickaxe, plus a dedicated Lego Fortnite style for players who use that mode. The items are available now in the Fortnite Shop, marking a rare collaboration between Epic Games and the Disney-Square Enix franchise.
A special Power Hours event runs twice on September 19, from 2–4 p.m. ET and again from 9–11 p.m. ET. During those windows, every player—regardless of whether they purchased any outfits—will start matches equipped with the Kingdom Key and a Sea Salt Ice Cream item, offering a free taste of the crossover to the broader player base.
This crossover may draw both longtime Kingdom Hearts devotees and curious Fortnite players into a shared in-game moment, potentially expanding awareness of the franchise among younger audiences unfamiliar with it. The free Power Hours items could boost weekend engagement and community participation, while the paid outfits may generate significant revenue for Epic. Such crossovers continue to blur boundaries between gaming properties, creating temporary cultural touchpoints that unite otherwise separate player communities.
