Spotify's New Program Offers 10,000 Indie Artists Free Studio Time and Early Access
Spotify introduced Fresh Finds Forward, an annual initiative for about 10,000 emerging independent artists. Participants receive 12 months of free studio time, early access to certain Spotify features, and prioritized partnership opportunities. The program extends the existing Fresh Finds effort, which has supported over 80,000 artists, including Laufey and Clairo.
The initiative extends Spotify’s decade-old Fresh Finds ecosystem, which has already reached over 80,000 artists in 127 countries. Notable alumni include Laufey, Clairo, and Doechii, and for five straight years, program graduates have received Best New Artist nominations. Eligible artists are those added to Fresh Finds starting January 1, 2026. Beyond studio time, participants get early access to Spotify features, exclusive community programming, and priority for tour or video partnerships, plus tools from LANDR and Splice and mental health resources.
This program could significantly lower barriers for independent musicians, who often struggle with studio costs and industry visibility. By offering free resources and early feature access, Spotify may accelerate career trajectories for thousands of artists, potentially reshaping how emerging talent gains traction.
