Intel Nova Lake leak surge hints at imminent launch, timeline still unclear
Recent weeks have seen a spike in leaks about Intel's upcoming Nova Lake processors, including motherboard listings and benchmark entries, suggesting a launch may be near. Intel has previously stated a second-half 2026 release window, and the company's CEO reaffirmed that target. While concrete details remain scarce, the increased activity points to an official announcement in the near future.
The recent leak surge includes three notable developments: a partner slide showing launch schedule and platform details, ASRock Z990 motherboard listings in a shipping database, and SiSoftware benchmark entries for an HP EliteBook X with an unidentified Intel chip. Two Z990 boards were also displayed at Computex earlier this year. Intel's own guidance, reiterated by CEO Lip-Bu Tan, points to a second-half 2026 release.
Intel's desktop launch history shows a consistent fall cadence since 2021, with Alder Lake, Raptor Lake, Raptor Lake Refresh, and Arrow Lake all debuting between late September and late October. The exception was Arrow Lake Refresh, which arrived in March 2026. Rumors have long suggested a 52-core flagship and new cache architecture for Nova Lake.
