AWS and ADP Expand Partnership to Bring AI-Driven HR Tools to Businesses
AWS has been named ADP's strategic cloud provider, enabling the development of generative and agentic AI solutions for ADP's 1.1 million clients across 140 countries. The partnership aims to automate HR tasks like payroll and tax system migration, and introduces ADP Assist, an AI assistant built on Amazon Bedrock. Small businesses could benefit from reduced operational overheads and streamlined workforce management.
The agreement designates AWS as ADP's primary cloud infrastructure provider, supporting a client network exceeding one million organizations worldwide. ADP is leveraging AWS's agentic services to migrate legacy payroll and tax applications, accelerating deployment of new AI features while maintaining security compliance. ADP Assist, built on Amazon Bedrock, targets routine HR functions such as discrepancy detection and report generation.
The ADP Lyric HCM platform, also powered by AWS, integrates payroll, talent, and workforce management with customizable workflows and real-time analytics. Generative AI integration reportedly reduces client onboarding steps by more than half. However, adoption carries considerations: workflow adjustments, employee training requirements, data privacy responsibilities, and upfront integration costs that small businesses must weigh against potential long-term efficiency gains.
