Simmons's recognition follows a period of significant honors for KISS, including the band's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2014 and Kennedy Center Honors in 2025. Checker, meanwhile, made history with "The Twist" as the first single to top the Billboard Hot 100 in two separate chart runs, and was voted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2025.
