NFL Fines 20 Players in First Week of 2026, Including Diggs and Gibbs

The fines stem from Week 1 games played Sept. 13-15. Diggs' celebration penalty proved costly, as the flag nullified a two-point conversion attempt in a two-point loss to Philadelphia. Quarterback Jayden Daniels acknowledged the mistake, saying he should have reminded Diggs about situational football.
Gibbs' fine was notable because officials did not flag the play, yet the league still penalized him $23,027. The NFL's new player safety rule suspends players after three violations of the same rule category, covering blindside blocks, hits on defenseless players, hip-drop tackles, horse-collar tackles, and launching. Three players were also fined for taunting.
