St. Charles and Crofton Enter Maryland High School Football Top 25
St. Charles and Crofton joined the latest Maryland high school football Top 25 rankings after both improved to 3-0. St. Charles defeated defending Class 1A champion Patuxent 38-21, while Crofton earned its first 3-0 start in program history. Saint Frances Academy remains No. 1 in the poll.
St. Charles enters at No. 23 following its decisive victory over Patuxent, the reigning Class 1A champion. The Spartans have now opened with three straight wins in consecutive seasons and finished 8-3 a year ago. Their inclusion makes them the fourth Southern Maryland Athletic Conference squad in the poll, joining Huntingtown, North Point, and Patuxent.
Crofton debuts after achieving the first 3-0 start in school history. The Cardinals previously defeated Old Mill, which was ranked No. 23 at the time, then added a win over Severna Park. Saint Frances Academy holds the top spot, with DeMatha Catholic, Archbishop Spalding, McDonogh, and Our Lady of Good Counsel rounding out the top five.
