SEVENTEEN Members JEONGHAN and JOSHUA Form Subunit JxJ, Announce Debut Mini-Album
JEONGHAN and JOSHUA of K-pop group SEVENTEEN will release their first mini-album 'DREAMSCAPE' under the new subunit JxJ on Oct. 19. The album explores the dual dimensions of dreams and reality. Pre-orders begin Sept. 22.
The subunit announcement follows a period of individual activity for both vocalists. JEONGHAN recently released a cover of Japanese singer Tuki's "Bansanka," while JOSHUA dropped his digital single "Baby Come Home." Both artists have long been fixtures of SEVENTEEN's vocal unit alongside WOOZI, DK, and SEUNGKWAN.
JxJ becomes the seventh official SEVENTEEN subunit, joining BSS, JxW, HxW, CxM, DxS, and V8. The parent group continues its prolific output, having released the 12th mini-album *SPILL THE FEELS* in late 2024 and the Billboard 200 No. 2 LP *HAPPY BURSTDAY* in May. The 12-second promo video features abstract nature imagery converging into the duo's overlapping-initials logo.
This subunit debut could deepen fan engagement by offering a more intimate, vocal-focused showcase within SEVENTEEN's large ensemble structure. The dream-versus-reality concept may resonate with younger listeners navigating identity and ambition, potentially expanding the group's cultural reach beyond its established K-pop base.
