Lambert and Langley Join Forces on 'Snakeskin Boots'
Miranda Lambert and Ella Langley have recorded a new duet called 'Snakeskin Boots,' set to lead Lambert's album Crisco. Lambert produced the track with Jesse Frasure, and she described it as a Thelma and Louise-style story of two women getting away. Lambert noted that she and Langley share many retro influences.
The duet arrives as Lambert’s *Crisco* album nears its Oct. 2 release, with “Snakeskin Boots” serving as the opening track and a radio premiere slated for the same day. Lambert and Langley previously worked together on Langley’s *Dandelion* track “Butterfly Season,” and Lambert also cowrote and coproduced Langley’s record-breaking “Choosin’ Texas,” which has held the Billboard Hot 100’s top spot for 23 weeks. That song has earned multiple CMA nominations, with Langley receiving nine nods and Lambert seven.
Lambert produced the new track alongside Jesse Frasure, and she described its narrative as a Thelma and Louise-style escape without the tragic ending. The song’s vintage-Western feel draws on influences ranging from Nancy Sinatra’s “Bang Bang” to the atmosphere of Studio 54. Lambert noted that she and Langley share many retro inspirations, which made Langley a natural fit for the collaboration.
This collaboration could reinforce the commercial and cultural momentum of female country artists, especially as Langley’s historic chart run has already drawn broad attention. The pairing may also deepen fan crossover between their audiences, potentially boosting album sales and radio play for both.
