Romeo Santos and Prince Royce Score Third Latin Airplay No.1 from Collaborative Album

Romeo Santos and Prince Royce's 'Ay! San Miguel' has reached No. 1 on Billboard's Latin Airplay chart, giving Santos his 25th chart-topper and Royce his 22nd. The song earned 7.2 million U.S. audience impressions in the tracking week ending Sept. 17. It also leads Tropical Airplay for a seventh consecutive week.
The collaborative album *Better Late Than Never* has now produced three consecutive Latin Airplay leaders, with "Ay! San Miguel" following the earlier successes of "Lokita Por Mí" and "Dardos," which held the top spot for 13 and nine weeks respectively. Santos's 25th No. 1 extends his record among tropical acts, while Royce's 22nd places him second on that leaderboard, behind only J Balvin's 40 overall chart-toppers. The album debuted strongly in December, entering Top Latin Albums at No. 2 and topping Tropical Airplay's album chart. The song's 16% audience growth helped displace "Chévere" by ARIA VEGA and Ryan Castro after just one week at the summit.
This achievement may reinforce the commercial viability of collaborative albums between established Latin artists, potentially encouraging more joint projects in the genre. Radio programmers and streaming platforms could see sustained audience engagement with tropical music, while fans of both performers gain a shared cultural touchpoint. The song's multi-chart success may also spotlight how traditional Latin genres continue competing with reggaeton and regional Mexican styles for mainstream attention, shaping what labels choose to promote next.
