Latin music and dance celebration returns to Miller Outdoor Theatre with free performance
The 44th annual Dia de la Hispanidad: Alma Latina is set for September 26 at Miller Outdoor Theatre, offering a free evening of Latin music and dance. The program, produced with the Institute for Hispanic Culture Houston, will span genres and generations, including works from Celia Cruz, Karol G, and Maná. Direction is by Yankar Gonzalez, with choreography by Jorge Melo, and free seated tickets can be reserved in advance.
The performance showcases a broad musical spectrum, moving from the classic salsa of Celia Cruz to contemporary reggaeton-influenced pop by Karol G and the enduring rock en español of Maná. This range reflects the diversity of Hispanic musical heritage celebrated at the event. Attendees have two seating options: the covered area requires a free reserved ticket, obtainable online from 10am the day before the show until noon on the performance day, while the hillside lawn offers unreserved, open seating. The event begins at 7:30pm at the Hermann Park venue.
