SCOUTz opens beta for MSP prospect intelligence with free 30-day trial

SCOUTz, a prospect intelligence platform for managed service providers, is now in open beta. It provides dated evidence about a prospect's environment before meetings, with 156 checks covering email authentication, certificates, and exposed services. The beta is free for 30 days, then $279 per month, and was shaped by 50 MSPs in a closed beta.
The platform's domain review operates without requiring an agent, installation, or login, examining email authentication, certificates, subdomains, and exposed services through 156 distinct checks. Every finding includes a written explanation and recommended next step, with all evidence dated and traced to named sources. Unknowns are never treated as clean results, and rescans compare new evidence against a pinned baseline for quarterly reassessments.
With prospect consent, SCOUTz can review Microsoft 365 configuration through a read-only connection covering identity, application consent, security settings, and managed-device context, without accessing mail, documents, files, or chats. The platform generates two report formats: one for business owners and one for technical teams. Founder Steve Copeland previously built two MSPs, and the closed beta involved 50 MSPs from three peer communities.
SCOUTz could shift how MSPs approach prospect meetings, replacing generic pitches with evidence-based conversations. Smaller businesses lacking internal security expertise may benefit from MSPs arriving with specific, dated findings rather than fear-based presentations. The platform's read-only design and refusal to model hypothetical breach losses may help build trust in an industry often criticized for scare tactics. However, the $279 monthly price could limit adoption to established MSPs, potentially widening gaps in security services available to smaller clients.
