Six Teams Chosen for Defense Innovation Cohort Focused on Space Challenges
Catalyst Campus and the BMC3I TAP Lab have selected six Focus Area Cohort Teams for Cohort 26.A. These teams consist of companies collaborating to address mission-focused challenges aligned with government priorities. The selected teams will participate in a structured program to refine solutions and engage with defense stakeholders.
The six selected teams pair established defense contractors with smaller specialized firms, creating blended groups that combine varied technical strengths. Participants range from large aerospace companies to startups focused on orbital operations, data systems, and autonomous technologies, each bringing distinct capabilities to the collaboration.
The Stage 0 phase serves as an initial development period where teams engage with defense subject matter experts and industry leaders. Successful completion positions these groups to pursue Stage 1, where their proposed solutions could be refined further and potentially integrated into broader defense initiatives. Catalyst Campus coordinates the program's structure and industry connections.
This program could strengthen the defense innovation pipeline by giving smaller space technology companies direct access to government stakeholders and established contractors. The collaborative model may accelerate the development of space-related solutions for defense applications, potentially benefiting national security capabilities.
