GTA6's pricey collector's edition omits the actual game
Rockstar Games has opened pre-orders for a limited-edition GTA6 collector's set priced at £349.99. The package includes various themed merchandise but does not contain a copy of the game itself. The standard release will be a code-in-a-box rather than a physical disc.
The £349.99 package includes a Macca the Gator figure, Oakley Frogskins sunglasses, a crossbody bag, snapback hat, shot glass, and assorted Leonida-themed accessories. Pre-orders require a Rockstar account login with a one-per-person limit intended to deter resellers. The set launches November 19.
This collector's edition follows Rockstar's earlier decision to abandon standard physical discs for GTA6, instead using code-in-a-box packaging — a move that drew criticism from fans and retailers. Separately, the game's 34-track soundtrack album features artists including Travis Scott, Future, and Keith Richards, with limited vinyl variants already appearing on resale sites at triple retail price.
This pricing strategy could deepen the divide between casual players and dedicated collectors, as the most expensive edition offers no gameplay content.
