Keegan Theatre brings folk-punk musical ‘Hundred Days’ to DC for the first time
Keegan Theatre’s DC premiere of Hundred Days runs October 10 through November 15, telling the true story of composers Abigail and Shaun Bengson. Directed by Christina A. Coakley, the production features nine local actor-musicians performing the folk-punk score. The musical explores what happens when a couple faces the possibility of only 100 days together.
The production assembles a substantial creative team, including designers for lighting, sound, costumes, scenery, and properties, alongside an intimacy director and two stage managers. The musical earned nominations for the Lucille Lortel and Drama League Awards following its 2017 Off-Broadway run at New York Theatre Workshop, where critics praised its reflective quality.
Several cast members are returning to Keegan from earlier productions, with the ensemble doubling as the live band across guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, cello, and accordion. Performances take place Thursday through Sunday evenings plus one Monday, with tickets priced at $65 and reduced rates for students and seniors at the Dupont Circle venue.
