Five Laptop Makers Launch Googlebook Devices with Android Integration
Googlebook is a new laptop platform that integrates Android apps, Chrome, Gemini, and Linux tools on a ChromeOS foundation. Five models from Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo will launch with prices starting at $899. Preorders are open, with U.S. availability on October 4 and other countries on October 5.
The launch lineup spans a wide price range, from the $899 Acer convertible to the $1,299 ASUS and HP models. The Dell XPS Googlebook is notable for testing the platform on Arm architecture via Snapdragon X Elite silicon, while the Acer offers the only foldable design with a 2.8K OLED touchscreen.
The ASUS model distinguishes itself through its roughly 2.2-pound chassis, making it the lightest option for travelers. All models feature touchscreens, fingerprint sensors, and premium materials like aluminum and magnesium. International availability follows the U.S. launch by one day, covering Canada, the U.K., Ireland, France, Germany, and Australia.
