Kilian Paris Founder Turns Cocktail Culture Into a Fragrance Trilogy

Kilian Hennessy, the founder of Kilian Paris, has introduced The Cocktails Collection, three perfumes based on classic mixed drinks: a Kir Royale-inspired sparkling scent, a piña colada-like tropical fragrance, and a coffee-and-chocolate gourmand. The launch extends the brand's bar-themed concept, which already includes its Liquors Collection. Hennessy says the trio is meant to take wearers through an evening, from aperitif to nightcap.
The trio traces an evening's arc, opening with Sparkling Royal's citrus-and-aldehyde effervescence, moving through Piña Paraíso's tropical pineapple-coconut blend, and closing with Midnight Espresso's coffee-chocolate gourmand. These build on the Liquors Collection, which began in 2021 with Angels' Share and Roses on Ice, all presented at boutique fragrance bars styled like cocktail lounges.
Hennessy, whose family has produced cognac for nearly three centuries, notes that roughly half his clientele in Paris and New York are under 32, reflecting niche fragrance's appeal to younger consumers seeking personal scent wardrobes. Additional cocktail-inspired releases are already in development, with plans to collaborate with a mixologist to further bridge perfumery and bartending.
The collection could expand fragrance's cultural crossover with cocktail culture, potentially attracting younger consumers who view scent as an extension of lifestyle and social ritual. By framing perfumes as an evening progression, Kilian may encourage more experimental, occasion-based fragrance use rather than signature scents. This could influence how other houses market their products, though the niche luxury segment remains a small slice of the broader fragrance market.
