Its algorithm was trained on a proprietary database containing over 340 billion pixels of burn wound imagery, allowing physicians to predict whether wound areas will fail to heal within 21 days.
The ACS Clinical Congress presentation, scheduled for September 26-29 in Washington, DC, will be led by Dr. James Holmes IV of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, with contributions from multiple burn centers and academic institutions. Spectral AI's chief executive emphasized that burn patients often receive initial evaluation outside specialized burn units, making exposure to the broader surgical community a commercial priority.
