ACCM Boosts US Output of Advanced Dielectric Materials for AI Systems
Advanced Chip and Circuit Materials announced a major expansion of its US manufacturing capacity for Celeritas dielectric materials, covering laminates, package cores, and build-up materials for AI hardware. New laminate capacity of 20 million square feet per year starts in January 2027, while prepreg and build-up capacity reaches 87 million square feet per year in November 2026. The materials are halogen-free and PFAS-free, and rely on a supply chain independent of conventional copper-clad laminates.
The new capacity spans four product categories within the Celeritas line. SF1600 eliminates woven glass to prevent signal skew in 224G-class designs, while HM001 offers near-zero thermal expansion for large processor boards. Package core options include HM50 with negative in-plane expansion and SMC, designed to match silicon's thermal behavior.
The materials avoid halogen, PFAS, T-glass, and quartz fabric, and operate on a supply chain separate from standard copper-clad laminate production, supporting lead times around three weeks. A second characterization lab opens in La Crosse, Wisconsin in October 2026, with additional capacity expansions planned for late 2027.
The expansion could ease supply constraints that currently limit AI hardware design, potentially shortening development timelines for networking and accelerator systems. Faster US-based sourcing may reduce lead times for fabricators and lower costs for data center operators, which could translate to more competitive pricing for cloud services. The halogen-free and PFAS-free composition may also simplify environmental compliance for manufacturers, though adoption will depend on how quickly customers validate the materials in production.
