CenterPoint Energy Sets Quarterly Dividend at 24 Cents Per Share

CenterPoint Energy's board has approved a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.24 per share on its common stock. The payment is scheduled for December 10, 2026, with shareholders of record as of November 19, 2026. The company serves over 7 million metered customers across four states.
The quarterly payout of 24 cents per share will reach investors on December 10, with an eligibility cutoff roughly three weeks earlier. CenterPoint operates electric and gas delivery networks spanning four states, serving more than seven million metered accounts, and held approximately $48.3 billion in assets as of late June.
The Houston-based company is the only investor-owned utility in Texas combining both electric and gas operations. Its workforce numbers around 8,800, and the business traces back more than 150 years through predecessor firms, giving the dividend announcement a foundation of long institutional history.
This dividend could offer dependable income for shareholders, especially retirees who favor utility stocks for steady returns. Because CenterPoint serves millions of households across four states, its financial health may also matter for service reliability in those communities. Regular payouts can signal management's confidence in cash generation, which may reassure both investors and customers, though dividends alone do not guarantee future stability or performance.
