Series B funding spurs hiring at three biotechs

Three biotechs that raised series B funding this year are expanding their teams. Tenpoint Therapeutics, which raised $85 million, is hiring sales and liaison roles for its approved eye drop. Osanni Bio, with $190 million in new funding, is also adding staff to advance its drug discovery programs.
Tenpoint's war chest combines an $85 million equity raise with a $150 million loan facility from Hercules Capital, yielding $235 million to support Yuvezzi's rollout following its January FDA approval. A Lupin partnership extends commercialization across Europe, while the company continues advancing preclinical programs for cataracts and geographic atrophy. Osanni's $190 million round funds discovery work in ophthalmology and cardiology, with programs eventually transferred to affiliate "avian" companies for specialized scaling.
Isomorphic Labs, backed by $2.1 billion, deploys its IsoDDE artificial intelligence platform for drug design across multiple therapeutic areas, maintaining research collaborations with Eli Lilly, Johnson & Johnson, and Novartis. The London-based firm's computational approach reflects a broader industry shift toward AI-enabled discovery, while its substantial funding positions it among the most heavily capitalized AI drug developers.
These hiring expansions could signal sustained investor confidence in drug development, particularly in ophthalmology and AI-driven discovery. Successful commercialization of Yuvezzi may broaden treatment options for the millions affected by presbyopia, while AI platforms could accelerate medicine timelines. However, job growth concentrated in sales and specialized technical roles may benefit certain regions and skill sets more than others, potentially widening employment disparities within the biopharma workforce.
