Clear Expands TSA PreCheck Enrollment to More U.S. Airports
Clear has become an official TSA PreCheck enrollment provider and now offers sign-ups or renewals at many U.S. airports and retail locations. Travelers can also combine a TSA PreCheck membership with Clear+ to potentially reduce enrollment costs. The two programs remain separate, even though Clear handles PreCheck enrollment services.
Clear began handling TSA PreCheck sign-ups as an approved enrollment partner in 2024, and it has since added many major airports plus hundreds of retail sites to its network. Applicants start the process online and finish at a participating Clear location; no appointment is needed, though they must bring required documents.
Bundling can reduce costs for frequent travelers. A new applicant pays $219 for five years of PreCheck and the first year of Clear+, which normally costs $219 annually. Renewals can use the same bundle, and current PreCheck members can renew through Clear even if they first enrolled with another provider. Most renewals can be done online up to six months before expiration.
This expansion may make expedited screening more convenient for travelers who already use Clear or want bundled savings, potentially increasing PreCheck enrollment at airports and retail sites. It could also raise questions about fairness in security lines, since paid services let some travelers move faster while others wait. Airports and enrollment providers may benefit from added traffic, though the practical effect depends on staffing, demand, and whether travelers see enough time savings.
