Agility Robotics studies wheeled designs while pushing Digit to market

Agility Robotics CEO Jonathan Hurst confirmed the company is studying wheeled robot designs in addition to its legged Digit platform. A wheeled robot appeared briefly in the Digit 5 launch video, but Hurst said it is too early to say whether Agility would build a wheeled Digit or a new machine. Agility is pursuing a SPAC merger with Churchill Capital Corp. XI that values it at $2.5 billion, as it works to commercialize Digit.
Agility Robotics CEO Jonathan Hurst said the company is examining wheeled form factors alongside its two-legged Digit robot. A wheeled humanoid briefly appeared in the Digit 5 launch video, though Hurst said it is too soon to determine whether Agility would create a wheeled Digit or a separate machine.
The company is pursuing a SPAC merger with Churchill Capital Corp. XI, valuing it at $2.5 billion and expected to raise over $620 million. Agility reported $1.8 million in 2025 revenue and a $140 million operating loss, while holding more than $300 million in multi-year Digit v5 orders from a single customer.
Agility’s exploration of wheeled designs could broaden where robots are deployed, especially in flat, predictable facilities where simpler mobility may be cheaper and more reliable. Workers whose tasks may be automated, robot operators, and investors may feel the effects first, through changed task allocation, safety practices, and commercialization timelines. Legged humanoids may still be needed in human-shaped spaces, so the outcome could be a mixed fleet rather than one form replacing another.
