Splatoon 3 Reveals October Splatfest With Fantasy Role Theme
Nintendo has announced a new Splatfest for Splatoon 3 that will take place in October. Players will choose between Team Wizard, Team Knight, and Team Ninja for the Halloween-themed event. The event will feature decorated hubs and special outfits for Deep Cut idols Shiver, Frye, and Big Man.
Nintendo's next Splatoon 3 Splatfest asks players to pick a fantasy vocation: Wizard, Knight, or Ninja. The Halloween event runs from Oct. 30 at 5 p.m. PT through Nov. 1 at 2:59 p.m. PT. Splatsville, Inkopolis Plaza, and Inkopolis Square will receive holiday decorations, while Deep Cut's Shiver, Frye, and Big Man wear themed costumes and "Anarchy Rainbow" gets a Halloween-flavored remix.
This theme previously appeared in 2024. The 2025 Halloween Splatfest reused Zombie vs. Skeleton vs. Ghost, itself from 2023. After 2024's Grand Festival closed the main update cycle, unique themes became rare; a 2026 Speed/Power/Tactics bout tied to Splatoon Raiders was a one-off. Splatoon 4 remains unannounced.
This event may give Splatoon 3 players a seasonal social moment, drawing lapsed fans back for team rivalry and limited cosmetics. It could also boost Halloween engagement for Nintendo's online community, especially younger players and streamers. Because the theme is reused, some longtime fans may feel less novelty, while newcomers may simply enjoy accessible festivities.
