AI House Demo Day Brings National Investors to Seattle for 25 Startup Pitches

AI House hosted a demo day in Seattle on Wednesday, drawing investors from Boston, New York, Colorado, the Bay Area and elsewhere. Twenty-five early-stage startups pitched, including many outside AI House’s own portfolio. Organizers said the event was designed to connect local founders with outside capital.
AI House's Wednesday event took place at its Pier 70 office. Twenty-five early-stage teams presented. Organizers intentionally included companies beyond its own portfolio. Managing director Yifan Zhang said local founders often lacked nearby funding, so the group used its networks to bring outside investors. Attendees included Conviction's Mike Vernal, Threshold Ventures' Emily Melton, and NextView Ventures' Rob Go.
Friday Harbor CEO Theo Ellis compared the gathering to Y Combinator's demo day. He said his mortgage-tech firm handled 0.6% of U.S. residential mortgage applications in August and is preparing a Series A. Pitchers also included Optimly, Vantari, Jinn Labs, GateIn, Casium, Orbital Robotics, Viata, Ridge AI, Caddi, Lev, Aria, Synthesize Bio, Moria, Hubble, Atlas, Reflection Robotics, and Eidol.
The event could strengthen Seattle’s startup ecosystem by linking local founders with national capital, potentially helping them hire, scale, and keep operations in the region. Investors may gain earlier access to less-hyped but revenue-generating companies. If funded, startups in mortgage, medical records, mining, and robotics could affect consumers and workers through faster services or automation, though outcomes depend on execution, regulation, and market adoption.
