Royal Huisman Reveals 85-Metre Project 410 Sailing Yacht
Royal Huisman has unveiled Project 410, an 85-metre single-masted sailing yacht described as the world’s largest sloop. The yacht is nearing completion in Vollenhove, Netherlands, with exterior and naval architecture by Frers Design and interiors by Wetzels Brown. It is arranged over two decks with a low-profile pilothouse and aims to combine generous living spaces with strong sailing performance.
Project 410 is an 85-metre sloop from Royal Huisman, billed as the biggest single-masted sailing yacht, and is being completed in Vollenhove, Netherlands. Frers Design handled exterior and naval architecture; Wetzels Brown created interiors. Its two-deck layout places a low pilothouse behind the mast, with rigging developed by Royal Huisman’s sister firm Rondal.
The main deck includes expansive glazing, skylights and tall ceilings, plus a double-height entry, salon, veranda, beach club and forward owner’s suite. Onboard batteries can be charged under sail for quiet running. Launch is scheduled for November, with mast stepping before delivery next year.
The unveiling may reinforce interest in large sailing yachts and technologies such as sail-charged batteries. It could affect wealthy buyers, shipyards, designers, and marine suppliers by raising expectations for scale and silent operation. Coastal communities and crews may see economic benefits from visits, while environmental groups may question resource use.
