IMC 2026 debuts Viksit Tech 47 to promote Indian tech firms
India Mobile Congress 2026 has announced the first Viksit Tech 47 platform, aimed at identifying and supporting promising Indian technology brands, leaders, and enablers. The initiative will be part of the 10th IMC, scheduled for October 7-10, 2026, at Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in New Delhi, with Techarc as research partner. It will produce a report based on more than 200 Indian tech companies and include the Dr. Zarabi Indigenisation Award for Startups.
India Mobile Congress 2026 will host the inaugural Viksit Tech 47 during its tenth edition, scheduled for October 7–10 at Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in New Delhi. Techarc is the research partner. Its scope includes personal devices, wearable and audio products, video and surveillance systems, connected transport, smart-home and IoT offerings, components and production, AI and deep tech, plus SaaS platforms.
A report will be launched at the event, drawing on more than 200 Indian technology firms and interviews with founders and industry experts. The Dr. Zarabi Indigenisation Award for Startups will recognize startups advancing domestic design, engineering, components, or manufacturing for hardware and appliances once reliant on imports. IMC 2026’s broader theme emphasizes scaling beyond borders.
The initiative could give Indian hardware, AI, SaaS and manufacturing startups greater visibility, potentially helping founders attract partners, talent and capital. Consumers may benefit if domestic alternatives to imported devices and components become more available and competitive. Researchers, workers and local supply chains could also see spillovers as indigenisation efforts mature. However, the platform’s actual societal effect may depend on follow-through, adoption and whether recognition translates into durable commercial scale.
