The group identified the drone as the Rujum, an adapted Chinese YD6-1000S hexacopter with a 44-minute endurance and 2 kg payload, configured for 60 mm mortar rounds.
Fighting has grown along the Taiz-Lahj border, including around Kahboub mountains and Al-Madaribah and Al-Arah in Lahj. Government forces say they repelled attacks and captured mountain positions. Clashes also continue in Taiz, with reported strikes near Mokha and Dhubab. The Saudi-led coalition reported intercepting two ballistic missiles aimed at Khamis Mushait and two drones toward Riyadh.
The intensified fighting and cross-border strikes could deepen insecurity for civilians in Taiz, Lahj, and nearby areas, potentially displacing families and disrupting access to food, health care, and transport.
