Bahawalnagar DHQ Opens Modern Cardiac Cath Lab with Free Services
A new catheterization laboratory at DHQ Hospital Bahawalnagar has begun treating heart patients at no charge. The facility is performing angiography and stent implantation, along with procedures involving heart support devices. Officials said the lab, described as a gift from Punjab's chief minister, saves local patients from traveling to Lahore, Bahawalpur, or Multan.
At DHQ Hospital Bahawalnagar, a newly opened catheterization laboratory is now handling heart procedures without patient charges. Dr. Kashif said angiography, stent placement, and procedures using cardiac assist devices are underway there.
Medical Superintendent Dr. Amir Raza described the lab as a present from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to local residents. Previously, people needing such care had to go to Lahore, Bahawalpur, or Multan; now those services are available in the district.
The free cath lab could ease financial and travel burdens for heart patients in Bahawalnagar district, who may otherwise seek care in Lahore, Bahawalpur, or Multan. Local access may reduce delays in diagnosis and treatment, potentially improving outcomes for some patients.
