TRAI rolls out property connectivity rating portal and testing app
TRAI has introduced a Digital Connectivity Rating platform and a companion mobile app so consumers can view and compare connectivity ratings for properties. Property managers can register buildings, submit rating requests, select a registered agency, and follow the assessment process online. Rating agencies will use the app for in-building measurements, while eSign supports digital signing and verification of documents and certificates.
TRAI's new Digital Connectivity Rating platform and companion testing app put the 2024 property-rating regulations into practice, including amendments notified in May 2026 and the June 2026 rating manual. The system links property owners or managers, registered rating agencies, and consumers through one online workflow.
Managers can list buildings under categories such as public, government, commercial, or private, apply for assessment, upload documents, choose an agency, and monitor progress. Agencies use the app for in-building measurements, record results, and complete certification. Consumers can search rated properties, inspect digitally signed certificates, and verify them by QR code.
The platform could help homebuyers, tenants, and businesses compare connectivity before choosing a property, making in-building coverage a more visible factor in purchase or lease decisions. Property managers may face greater incentive to improve infrastructure, while rating agencies gain a structured assessment role. If adoption and data quality are strong, consumers could benefit from clearer verification; if not, ratings may have limited influence. Overall, it may shift some attention toward digital readiness as a property attribute.
