Anthropic offers free Claude Code cloud session credits to Pro and Max users
Anthropic has made Claude Code cloud sessions generally available to eligible subscribers and is offering promotional credits: $100 for Pro users and $250 for Max users. Cloud sessions run on Anthropic infrastructure, so tasks continue remotely without the user's computer staying on. The offer must be claimed by October 7, unused credits expire November 4, and after credits are used cloud sessions count against normal plan limits.
Anthropic has widened access to Claude Code's remote coding sessions, moving them beyond an experimental preview for qualifying subscribers. These sessions run on Anthropic's servers, so tasks can keep progressing after a user disconnects or turns off their own computer. Individual Pro and Max subscribers whose plans were active when the promotion began on September 23 are eligible.
The promotional balances are $100 for Pro and $250 for Max, separate from ordinary usage allowances, and they are applied automatically when a remote session starts. Users must claim them by October 7; any unused amount ends November 4. Once exhausted, remote sessions draw on standard subscription allowances, with no separate fee for the remote environment.
This promotion may lower barriers for developers and small teams to experiment with remote coding agents, potentially shifting more work to cloud infrastructure. Pro and Max users could become more reliant on Anthropic's ecosystem, while those without subscriptions remain unaffected. If cloud sessions become routine, expectations around always-on AI assistance and data handling may grow, raising questions about access, cost, and oversight that society may need to consider.
