Tom Ogden surprises Niall Horan crowd with Charlemagne in Manchester
Blossoms frontman Tom Ogden made a surprise guest appearance during Niall Horan's Co-op Live concert in Manchester on September 25. The pair performed Blossoms' 2015 breakout single Charlemagne together, with the crowd singing along. Blossoms are set to release their sixth album, Songs From The Wedding Cake, on October 2 and will later return to Co-op Live on their headline tour.
Tom Ogden, frontman of Stockport band Blossoms, appeared seven songs into Niall Horan’s Co-op Live set on September 25. They duetted on “Charlemagne,” a 2015 single that opened Blossoms’ self-titled debut, a UK No. 1 in 2016. The Manchester audience joined in loudly.
Blossoms recently marked that debut’s tenth anniversary with a Deaf Institute gig, playing the record fully and starting with “Charlemagne,” normally a closing song. Their sixth LP, Songs From The Wedding Cake, arrives October 2, followed by headline dates at Co-op Live on November 28 and December 11.
This surprise collaboration may strengthen crossover between Horan’s pop audience and Blossoms’ indie following, potentially exposing each artist to new listeners.
