Uplay is a gaming stool designed around the forward-leaning, elbow-braced posture that competitive players naturally adopt. Its round seat, tubular frame, and tabletop share a single bent tube, while an eccentric clamp borrowed from bicycle seat posts allows height adjustment. The furniture also separates into individual components for easier transport and storage.
Designer Ilya Lazukin developed Uplay after finding no existing furniture aimed at the stance where players lean ahead and rest their elbows on their legs during competitive play. The concept treats that posture as a design starting point rather than a habit to correct.
Its seat and tabletop are joined by one continuous bent tube, supported by tripod legs. A bicycle-style eccentric clamp adjusts the armrest column's height. The piece can be disassembled for storage, and versions use painted steel with exposed plywood or a removable fabric cover.
Uplay may appeal to competitive gamers and small-space dwellers by validating leaning-forward play and offering compact storage. Its niche focus could nudge furniture makers to design around actual body positions rather than office or racing conventions. If adopted, it might reduce elbow and leg pressure during long sessions, though its specialized form may limit broader household use. As a concept, its influence may remain modest unless commercialized.
