Azure Cocktail Bar Planned for Former Jericho’s Restaurant Site
A new cocktail lounge called Azure is planned for the West Dodge Road address that previously housed Jericho’s Restaurant. N.U.M Consulting, LLC has submitted a liquor license request for the business, and the Omaha City Council is set to consider it on September 29. Jericho’s, known for prime rib, shut its doors for good in February after almost five decades.
The proposed Azure Cocktail Bar would occupy 11732 West Dodge Road, a site previously home to Jericho’s Restaurant. N.U.M Consulting, LLC is seeking a liquor license for the concept, and Omaha’s City Council is scheduled to review the request on September 29.
Jericho’s operated at that address for almost five decades and was recognized for its prime rib before closing permanently in February. The planned lounge represents a different use for the West Dodge Road location.
The opening of Azure could affect nearby residents, diners, and other West Dodge Road businesses by adding a late-night social option and potentially increasing evening foot traffic or noise. Former Jericho’s patrons may see the site’s character shift from a longtime prime-rib restaurant to a cocktail-focused venue. The council’s license review may also draw attention from neighbors interested in how the space will operate.
