Meta expands AI wearables with new glasses, Muse agent, and VR headset

At its Connect 2026 conference, Meta announced a broader lineup of AI-powered eyewear and wearable devices, including Ray-Ban Meta audio glasses starting at $349 and Meta Adventurer glasses at $249. The company also detailed upgrades to its Muse personal AI agent, which will bring voice interactions to smart glasses, and a Meta VR Glasses model priced at $1,299 for spring 2027. A compact standalone device called Muse Charm is expected to ship in December 2026.
At Connect 2026, held Sept. 23–24, Meta framed wearable AI as its next platform. Its Muse assistant, introduced Sept. 8, will soon support voice on smart glasses, letting users interact without a phone. Camera-free Ray-Ban Meta audio glasses arrive Oct. 13 at $349, while Meta Adventurer costs $249.
Meta also plans a $1,299 VR Glasses model for spring 2027 and a compact Muse Charm device for Dec. 2026. It aims for over 100 eyewear styles by year-end, adding Aviator and Zena frames through Oakley and Ray-Ban partnerships. Shopping and task connectors plus improved visual context underpin these features.
If AI eyewear becomes common, consumers may gain hands-free access to information, shopping comparisons, and assistance. People nearby could face new privacy questions, since camera-free models address some concerns but camera-equipped devices remain. Retailers and workers may see shifts in how shoppers research purchases. Accessibility users might benefit from voice and visual context. Yet adoption may depend on price, style, and social acceptance.
