Zurich Summit Panel Tells Filmmakers to Take Control of AI

Schlogel leads Atwater Capital in Los Angeles and this summer also became chief strategy officer at Magnific, the AI creative platform previously called Freepik.
She noted that although her career has centered on financing films, a Magnific board meeting convinced her she needed to understand the technology. The panel's framing urged filmmakers to take control of AI.
The panel's message may encourage filmmakers to engage with AI rather than leave key choices to vendors or platforms. That could affect directors, producers, financiers, crews, and audiences as creative labor, financing, and production workflows shift. Greater literacy and control might help filmmakers shape how these tools are used; without it, smaller creators could face pressure to adopt systems whose terms and costs they do not fully grasp.
