Kneecap and Tom Morello unveil collaboration 'Unconquered'
Kneecap and Tom Morello have released 'Unconquered', a track from Morello's solo album Everyone Gets Everything They Want. It blends Morello's guitar with electronic percussion and verses from Kneecap in Irish and English. Morello said the song is meant to capture an unconquered spirit in the face of repression.
“Unconquered” appears on Tom Morello’s debut solo rock album, Everyone Gets Everything They Want, issued September 25 through Mom + Pop. The record, his 22nd career release, also features Serj Tankian, Beartooth, and riffs from Morello’s 15-year-old son Roman on five songs. Kneecap’s Mo Chara and Móglaí Bap trade Irish and English verses over electronic drums and Morello’s guitar.
Morello has described the Belfast trio as a present-day equivalent to Rage Against the Machine. Kneecap’s second album, Fenian, arrived in May and earned four-and-a-half stars from NME. Their Fenian world tour is scheduled for UK and Ireland dates, opening in Southampton on November 28 and closing at Dublin’s 3Arena on December 16.
The release may draw listeners from rock, rap, and punk audiences toward Kneecap’s Irish-language activism and Morello’s longstanding protest music. It could amplify conversations about repression and cultural identity among fans, while giving festival crowds a shared anthem. For Kneecap, the collaboration may broaden international reach; for Morello, it may connect his solo work to younger audiences.
